Seiffert Studio founder Karen Seiffert has been teaching choral music, voice, piano, guitar and dulcimer for over thirty years. She is endowed with a strong desire to open the world of music up to all she comes into contact with. Throughout her early years of lesson planning Karen found that teaching students how to read music in the traditional methods could sometimes be a challenge.

It was because of her students she dedicated her career to finding a new way to teach choral music particularly in relation to training the ear. Recently she has compiled her methods and discoveries into a format to share with other music teachers and lovers. The formation of Seiffert Studio came about as a way to share this information with the rest of the music community.

Today, Karen resides in San Antonio, Texas where she continues to share her love of music with local schools and through private piano, voice, guitar and dulcimer lessons. If you are interested in opportunities to train with Karen please let us know here in our connection form.

The Method to Our Madness

After years of practice, Karen Seiffert has enhanced the way she teaches choral music. The method she has perfected comes from a combination of using shape notes, sight reading, theory and ear training. Using this combination her poster and text book show music teachers how to help their students perform various parts and harmonies in a group setting. Her tools help to ensure each student knows their part and can hear their part even while practicing as a whole choir. Karen welcomes questions about her methods and thoughts to be share in the connection page of her site here.
